CROKINI CHERRY TOMATO CANDY APPLES – A CROKINI TREAT



Ingredients

  • 150 g (3/4 cup) powdered sugar
  • 50 g (1/4 cup) corn syrup
  • 24 CROKINI cherry tomatoes
  • 10 g (2 tsp) white sesame seeds
  • 6 pinches fine sea salt


The recipe

- Wash the CROKINI cherry tomatoes then poke them (stem side) with a wooden skewer.
- Combine the sesame seeds and sea salt in a small bowl.
- Prepare a sheet of parchment paper.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar and corn syrup, then caramelize this mixture.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat when the caramel has a good color and let it rest a moment for the air bubbles to escape.
- Dip 3/4 of each CROKINI cherry tomato in the caramel, roll it in the mixture of sesame seeds and sea salt and place each one upright on the parchment paper.
- Allow the caramel to crystallize for a few minutes then serve on a platter.
